Hilario Rodriguez went peacefully on March 4, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 29, 1941, to Angelina and Hilario Rodriguez in Laredo.

Hilario (Lalo) Rodriguez grew up in Laredo and started working at a young age. He married the love of his life, Elda Paiz, in November 1965. They relocated to Elgin and started their journey in raising two children, Larry Rodriguez and Norma Jean Rosenbaum.

Hilario was known to light up the room with his laughter and jokes. He had a great love and passion for music. He wrote, produced and sang in several bands. He also loved his UT Longhorns. Hook ‘Em Horns!

He is preceded in death by his mother, Angelina Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elda (Paiz) Rodriguez; son, Larry Rodriguez (Peggy); daughter, Norma Rosenbaum;grandsons, Larry Daniel Rodriguez (Amanda), Matthew Rodriguez and David Michael Rosenbaum; granddaughter, Heather Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Isabella Ramirez, Maci Ramirez, Hilario Rodriguez and Beatrice Bullard; sisters, Angelina (Beva) Allred, Sylvia Moreno and Maria Paiz; and brother, Juan Paiz.

A visitation was held on Friday, March 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 11, at 10 a.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment followed at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
