The Elgin Independent School District board of trustees named Christopher Bailey as the lone finalist for superintendent during a special-called board meeting, Monday, Aug. 10.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Christopher Bailey to Elgin ISD,” school board President Byron Mitchell said. “We believe he brings a wealth of experience to the position and is a great fit for our community. We’re excited to watch him lead our Wildcats toward new possibilities.”
By law, trustees must wait 21 days before voting to officially hire Bailey as the district’s next superintendent.
Bailey currently serves as superintendent of Goldthwaite Consolidated ISD and has more than 20 years of experience as a Texas educator.
