Two TxDOT contractors among three killed in Texas 71 crash

BASTROP — Three people including two contractors working on a Texas Department of Transportation project were among those killed early Thursday morning on Texas 71 near Tucker Hill Lane in Bastrop County, according to TxDOT.

“Our thoughts are with their families and coworkers. While the crash remains under investigation, we remind all drivers to use caution in construction zones, pay attention to signs, drive to conditions, avoid distractions and never drive impaired,” TxDOT officials said in a statement.

Bastrop County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
