Bastrop resident Peggy Dimmick was sworn in for her second term as a member of the Texas Silver- Haired Legislature by Texas House Representative Gary VanDeaver earlier this month.The TSHL orientation session was the first of three leading up to their legislative session in Spring, 2024.Delegates will research issues of concern for older Texans, prepare resolutions for proposed legislation, pass them through committee and vote on them in full chamber.Approved resolutions will be included in a TSHL legislative report, delivered to all legislators, as well as Governor Abbott, in advance of the 2025 state session.“We sincerely thank our elected officials ...
