BASTROP – On Friday, June 30, former state Sen. Carlos Uresti was released from a federal prison in Bastrop.Uresti was in prison serving part of his 12 year sentence for securities fraud, money laundering and other crimes according to his lawyer. Uresti’s sentence was reduced to five years and 10 month earlier this year.
