ELGIN CITY COUNCIL
An Elgin council member resigned last week alleging months of intimidation and public targeting by colleagues since taking office in May.
Brenda Piña announced her resignation from the Ward 4 seat during a special council meeting Sept. 22, citing disputes over her attendance, scrutiny of her communications and an alleged confrontation with another council member. She said she plans to file a formal ethics complaint with the city and report her allegations to the Texas Rangers.
