A new online platform aimed at connecting area residents with career and education resources across a 10-county region has launched.
Career Ready Central Texas, a Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area initiative, brings together career information for Bastrop County and Central Texas. It looks to offer a starting point for students, job seekers, educators and workforce professionals to explore opportunities and identify training pathways.
“Career Ready Central Texas isn’t just about telling people that opportunity exists. It’s about giving them the information and tools to see where it is, understand what it takes to get there and take the next step,” WSRCA CEO Paul Fletcher said in a statement.
As the Central Texas corridor continues to experience significant population and workforce growth, new possibilities open up across industries and communities. Officials said the tool is designed to help residents take advantage of that growth and keep pace by connecting career interests with the skills, education and training needed to compete for jobs across county lines.
“Whether someone is choosing a first career, planning their education or considering a new direction, we want them to see a future for themselves right here in Central Texas,” Fletcher said.
By bringing regional career information and resources into one platform, according to Workforce Solutions, the initiative allows itself to help students and families make more informed decisions while giving educators, counselors and workforce professionals another tool to guide those conversations.
