Access to affordable healthcare for Manor area residents has improved with the opening of a new free health clinic.
The Al-Noor Muslim Community Center, found at 1300 Old Highway 20, recently launched its clinic in partnership with EIXSYS Healthcare System — pronounced “x-sis.” The collaboration has provided free and reduced-cost care since 2015 for anyone who may not have access to traditional medical services.
“We saw a need (in Manor) … and the community welcomed us with open arms,” said EIXSYS Executive Director Aijaz Hassan.
According to EIXSYS, the clinic welcomes patients regardless of faith, background or financial situation, with the goal of serving its neighbors with “dignity and compassion.” Patients gain access to a variety of healthcare services, including routine physicals, primary care, preventive care, prescriptions and radiology imaging, with discounted rates for lab work, specialist referrals and radiology services.
Operating under a belief that healthcare should be accessible to everyone, the Muslim Community Center opened its first clinic in 2014 on North Lamar Boulevard in Austin.
The Manor location also joins sites in Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock. The clinic accepts both walk-in and appointment- based patients and has time slots available.
All clinics operate with a diverse volunteer staff, including medical personnel, according to officials. Call 512-967- 6667 or email contact@alnoormcc. org for booking details.
The Al-Noor Muslim Community Center has become a hub for Manor’s growing Muslim community since moving into the former St. Joseph Catholic Church two years ago. The center also offers educational, humanitarian and community outreach programs for all local residents.
