Area athletes set for regional meet

Local track and field athletes will look to improve on their successful area-round performances at regional meets this weekend.

Elgin, Bastrop and Cedar Creek participants will travel to Webster May 1, while Smithville will compete at the Bullard meet May 2. The top two finishers advance to the state level May 14-16 at Mike A. Meyers Stadium in Austin.
