Bastrop and McDade volleyball teams are both heading into the postseason, each looking to make a run at the playoffs.
BASTROP BEARS VS. WEISS RED WOLVES
The Bastrop Bears will face the Weiss Red Wolves on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Cedar Ridge High School. Bastrop, with a 29-13 record and 10-4 in district play, is up against a tough Weiss team that finished 36-8 and 10-2 in district. Weiss is led by sophomore outside hitter Deja Carroll and senior middle blocker Rihanna Bryant, both of whom lead the team in kills.
Bastrop counters with a seasoned roster, including seniors Lanie Coy, Abby Thomas, and Kristen Browning. This is the Bears’ first postseason appearance in four years, and they’re eager to make a deep run.
MCDADE BULLDOGS VS.
BURTON PANTHERS
The McDade Bulldogs will also play on Thursday at 6 p.m., taking on the Burton Panthers at Caldwell High School. McDade, with a strong veteran squad, aims to continue their successful season and advance in the playoffs.
Both teams will move on to the regional round if they secure a win, with their next opponents still to be determined.
