Members of the Lone Star Car Club recently donated funds utilized on a DeWalt toolbox and tools to the Elgin High School Automotive program, presenting them to 2024 graduate Triston Carnes. This donation supports the program by providing students with shirts for competitions and the chance to earn personal toolkits if they pursue post-secondary automotive education. Carnes, who started taking automotive classes as a freshman and earned multiple Automotive Service Excellence certifications, will be attending Texas State Technical College to further his automotive career. He is the first program student to obtain the toolbox donation, received in the classroom of EHS automotive instructor Michael Silkett, with his parents in attendance Photo courtesy Elgin ISD Career and Technical Education
