ROUND ROCK — Two Bastrop County cross country runners had the high honor Nov. 3 of competing in their respective classes at the 2023 UIL Cross Country State Championships held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.Cedar Creek High School senior Alejandro Ruiz competed for the Eagles in the 5A boys’ 5,000-meter run, while McDade High School sophomore Summer Jacobs ran in the 1A girls’ two-mile run to represent the Lady Bulldogs.For Ruiz, he completed a sensational career for Cedar Creek as the standout senior placed 13th with a time of 15:46.60 in a massive field of 150 boys runners ...
