BASTROP COUNTY — Two men were indicted last month by a Bastrop County grand jury on charges related to sexual offenses involving minors, according to the district clerk’s office.
Edward Cumberlander, 63, and David Langdon, 57, were both indicted by the 21st District Court and later taken into custody at the Bastrop County Jail. Each was released on a $100,000 bond.
Cumberlander faces 10 counts of solicitation to commit aggravated sexual assault of a child, all second-degree felonies. According to the indictment, he sent 10 sexually explicit electronic messages to a girl younger than 14 between Nov. 21 and Dec. 5, 2023.
Langdon was indicted on five counts of possession of child pornography, classified as first-degree felonies. The indictment alleges he distributed visual material showing minors engaged in sexual acts in May 2024, and four times in October that same year.
The indictments were issued through the office of Bastrop County District Clerk Sarah Loucks.
