SMITHVILLE — The Smithville High School girls varsity basketball team under Head Coach Rachel Altman began 4A-District 22 play this past week and split its two games. The Lady Tigers won convincingly 49-30 on the road Dec. 12 at Caldwell High School and were defeated Friday night 53-38 at rival La Grange High School. Smithville handled business last Tuesday in the district opener in Caldwell as the Lady Tigers played tight team defense on the Lady Hornets all night.
