Kristel Lynn Sanchez

Kristel Lynn Sanchez, 39, of Elgin, and unborn son, Jeremy were unexpectedly called home by our Heavenly Father Monday, April 17, 2023.

Kristel was born April 1, 1984, in Taylor, to Gilbert Sanchez Jr. and Sherry Sedberry. She is the oldest of three siblings, Mandy Maxwell (Sanchez), Trey Sedberry and Aliyah Sanchez.

Growing up, Kristel enjoyed riding horses, swimming, fishing and riding the tractor with Grandpa Norwood. Kristel loved her weekends at the Sanchez Farm with all the cousins and Momo’s cooking.

When she was not on the farm or on the tractor with Grandpa, she was eating butter and sugar sandwiches at Aunt Barbara and Uncle Danny’s house.

Kristel graduated from Elgin High School, class of 2002.

Kristel was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gilbert Sr. and Ophelia Sanchez; maternal great grandparents, Maynard (M.H.) and Dora Norwood and Clarence (Junior) Sedberry; maternal grandpa, David (Buck) Sedberry; and uncles, Richard Sanchez and Manuel Gutierrez.

Kristel is survived by her mother, father, stepmother, Silia Sanchez; maternal great grandmother, Marguerite Sedberry; maternal grandmother, Alice Sedberry; siblings, Mandy Maxwell, Trey Sedberry and Aliyah Sanchez; step siblings, Laura and Adrian De Leon; nieces, Keaton, Karsyn and Kori Maxwell; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 19, at 4 p.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 State Hwy 95 in Elgin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brad Jones for all his help through this trying time. He truly went above and beyond.
