Sofia Vera, 19, of Elgin, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2022.

Family and friends gathered at Elgin Funeral Home for visitation Monday, Jan. 9, from 6 until 8 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 10 a.m. with Father Henry presiding. Christian burial will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
