Hogeye Festival brings community together for ITS 39th year

Downtown Elgin came alive over the weekend as residents and visitors gathered for the annual Hogeye Festival, known as the “Best Little Pig Gig in Texas.” Hosted by the Elgin Main Street Program, the three-day celebration featured live music, food vendors, arts and crafts, family-friendly activities and festival favorites such as Cow Patty Bingo. Main Street Manager Kristina Alvarez credited the festival’s success to the community and volunteers who make the annual tradition possible. “We could not do this if it weren’t for the people in the community,” Alvarez said. “They give their time and energy to make sure this is a fun day.” The festival is the Main Street Program’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting a wide range of downtown improvements and revitalization efforts.
