May trials set for child sex crimes suspects

A pair of suspects accused of sexual offenses involving minors are scheduled to stand trial in Bastrop County next month.

LaQuan Williams, 27, and Julian Villalobos, 28, are both set for trial May 11 in the 21st and 423rd district courts, respectively. Both remain in the Bastrop County Jail as of press time.

Williams, of Pflugerville, faces seven charges tied to alleged offenses committed December 2016, when he was 18 and the alleged victim was younger than 14, according to affidavits obtained by the Courier.

The charges include aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

The aggravated sexual assault and kidnapping charges are first-degree felonies, while the remaining charges are second- degree felonies.

Williams’ bond is set at $3.5 million.

Villalobos, of Elgin, faces six charges stemming from alleged offenses between 2023 and 2025 involving a victim younger than 17, according to records.

The charges include three counts of sexual assault of a child and two counts of promoting sexual performance of a child related to alleged September 2023 incidents. Authorities later recovered a video in November 2025 that led to an additional charge of possession of child pornography.

Affidavits state the alleged victim reported beginning a relationship with Villalobos in May 2023 and having a child with him.
