Approximately 700 people were in attendance at the No Kings III Protest Saturday morning in Bastrop. The event was organized by Brittney Hoch, president of the Coalition of Democratic Allies, and Michele Rutherford of the Bastrop County Democratic Party. This was the third of a series of nationwide protests against the Donald Trump presidential administration. This series of protests began a year ago with the first protests taking place in June 2025. Bastrop hosts weekly protests from noon to 1 p.m. in the city limits on the corner of Main and Chestnut streets. Courtesy photos
