BASTROP — A wildfire known as the Spring Pine Fire burned approximately 40 acres in Bastrop State Park last night as firefighters continue to contain the blaze, according to the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management.
As per the latest update from authorities, containment has reached 40%. There has been no reported injuries or damage to structures. Mandatory evacuations are in place for park cabins and the Pines at Bastrop RV Park.
The fire is located near Southeast Highway 21 and South Shore Road. One eastbound lane of Highway 21 has reopened after being closed for fire operations. Drivers are being urged to move cautiously through the area.
