Hundreds of Elgin High School students marched out of school Wednesday afternoon to protest the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
The students were not alone either. About 50 adults marched in solidarity with the participating students.
The protest started when students exited the school building and joined their supporters in the First Baptist Church Elgin parking lot. The march continued southbound on County Line Road and ended at the Austin Community College-Elgin Campus.
Last month, two Minneapolis residents were reportedly shot to death by ICE agents in two separate incidents. Renee Good was shot to death Jan. 7, and Alex Pretti was killed Jan. 24.
