A Bastrop woman was arrested in Spring Dec. 1 in connection with a fatal Austin shooting last month, author it ies said.
K imbe r ly Sotelo, 34, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant tied to the Nov. 12 shooting death of 50-year-old Gared Goff, according to officials.
Austin police said officers responded that night to a shots-fired call in the 400 block of Trinity Street, where they found Goff with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police the suspect stepped out of a gray SUV with a gun, fired once and fled in the vehicle. Investigators later found the SUV abandoned in north Austin. DNA collected from the vehicle matched Sotelo, according to reports.
As of press time, Sotelo remained in the Montgomery County Jail on an undisclosed bond.
