A Smithville man died early Dec. 1 after the motorcycle he was riding left the roadway and hit a cable barrier on Texas 71, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS officials said Andrew Lee Pinson, 57, was traveling west on a 2005 Honda motorcycle when, for reasons still under investigation, the bike veered off the highway and struck the barrier near Smithville.
Pinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, according to DPS.
