Greens OK after fire near course

Firefighters last week fully contained the Hole 18 Fire near the Lost Pines Golf Club after holding the blaze to about 15 acres, officials said. Containment surrounding Hyatt Lost Pines Road and Pope Bend Road reached 100% midday Oct. 8. Mop-up and grinding operations were completed and no injuries, structural damage or evacuations were reported, according to the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management.

Officials said the golf course was never impacted by the fire and remains open and operating as usual.
