Teacher booked in student relationship case

BASTROP — A former Bastrop Independent School District teacher was arrested last week on multiple charges involving an improper relationship with a student, according to Bastrop County records.

Lucy Gonzales, 43, was booked into the Bastrop County Jail Oct. 1. She faces four counts of improper relationship between an educator and a student and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

Bastrop County Judge Christopher Duggan set her bond at $100,000, which had not been posted as of press time.

Bastrop ISD officials were not immediately available for comment. Gonzales was most recently a Spanish teacher at Cedar Creek Middle School.
