Bastrop border grows

BASTROP — A map of Bastrop’s current city limits, including its newest annexation, was approved on first reading by City Council July 22.

The latest addition brings in a little more than 23 acres from section two, phase four of the Valverde project, west of FM 969 near Puerta Plata Drive.

At full buildout, the Valverde Public Improvement District is expected to include nearly 1,400 single-family homes and 250 townhomes, priced between $200,000 and $300,000, according to officials.

Since 2011, Bastrop has annexed 13 parcels and trimmed off two.
