BASTROP — A dozen people were recently arrested in connection with three drug-related investigations, according to the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office.
As of press time, five of the 12 suspects remained in the Bastrop County Jail.
On July 15, deputies executed a search warrant on Forest Lake Drive related to a report of a stolen vehicle. The search uncovered four stolen vehicles and narcotics, officials said.
Four suspects were arrested at the scene, all of which remained in the Bastrop County Jail July 21.
Megan Christian was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $10,000.
Gabriel Ortiz was charged with interference with public duties, theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug. Bond is set at $28,500.
Ashley Rodriguez was charged with interference with public duties. Bond is set at $3,500.
Jerry Shook was charged with three counts of theft and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $42,500.
Deputies previously searched the residence of 108 N. Pony Court in the Pony Creek area of Paige July 14. Investigators reportedly found narcotics and drug paraphernalia, leading to the arrest of seven suspects, each charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The individuals were identified as Stacie Croissant, January Davis, Brandon Faldyn, Sara Fowler, David Price, Vincent Smart and Crystal Smith. With the exception of Smart, all suspects were released on bond: Croissant ($7,500), Davis ($5,000), Faldyn ($3,500), Fowler ($5,000), Price ($20,000) and Smith ($2,500).
Smart’s bond amount is $2,500. On July 8, a Bastrop County K-9 unit also assisted with a traffic stop on U.S. 290 in McDade. Narcotics were found during an open-air sniff of the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody.
The driver, who was not named by authorities, was later released on a $300,000 bond.
