BASTROP — A dozen people were arrested over the past week in connection with three drug-related investigations, according to the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office.
As of Wednesday evening, 11 of the suspects remained in the Bastrop County Jail. One was released after posting a $300,000 bond.
On July 15, deputies executed a search warrant on Forest Lake Drive related to a report of a stolen vehicle. The search uncovered four stolen vehicles and narcotics, officials said.
Four suspects were arrested at the scene:
- Megan Christian was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
- Gabriel Ortiz was charged with interference with public duties, theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug.
- Ashley Rodriguez was charged with interference with public duties.
- Jerry Shook was charged with three counts of theft and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Deputies also searched a residence in the Pony Creek area of Paige July 14. Investigators found narcotics and drug paraphernalia, leading to the arrest of seven suspects, each charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The individuals were identified as Stacie Croissant, January Davis, Brandon Faldyn, Sara Fowler, David Price, Vincent Smart and Crystal Smith.
On July 8, a Bastrop County K-9 unit assisted with a traffic stop on U.S. 290 in McDade. Narcotics were found during an open-air sniff of the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody.
The driver, who was not named by authorities, was later released on a $300,000 bond.
