BASTROP — The Bastrop State Park Pool is open for the public season, with more lifeguards in training and a first-come, first-served system replacing reservations. Through Aug. 8, open swim hours will run 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 1:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with lap swim available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Pool access requires a ticket purchased at the gate, including for children under 5, who swim free. Located at 100 Park Road in Bastrop, the pool offers ADA entry and free use of life jackets and noodles, though floaties, pets, smoking and outside food are not allowed. Capacity is limited and not guaranteed for park visitors or campers.
