BASTROP — Bastrop ISD was well represented on the All-District 24-5A baseball team, with Bastrop High earning seven selections and Cedar Creek claiming five.
Bastrop
The Bears had two first-team honorees. Cooper Voigt was named Pitcher of the Year after leading Bastrop on the mound, while Tristan St. Clair earned first-team recognition as one of two designated hitters. St. Clair led the Bears with a .344 batting average and recorded double-digit RBIs.
Two more Bears earned second-team honors. Francisco Arriaga was recognized for his contributions on the mound, forming one of the district’s top pitching duos alongside Voigt.
Arriaga also chipped in offensively, batting just under .250 with multiple RBIs. Outfielder Ben Vaquera joined him on the second team, serving as a key contributor at the plate and a dependable defender in the field.
Bastrop also had three players receive honorable mention: Lathan Bennett, Frankie Andrada and Bob Gorman. All three played pivotal roles in a successful season that saw the Bears finish third in district and qualify for the playoffs, where they were eliminated in the first round by Weiss.
Cedar Creek
Cedar Creek had two players named to the first team. Shortstop Jacob Borrego earned the honor after a standout season, finishing among the team leaders in both batting average and fielding percentage. Outfielder Arturo Rodríguez also earned first-team recognition.
Third baseman Michael Ybarbo and catcher Roman Olvera were named to the second team, while Laude Reyes received honorable mention.
The Eagles wrapped up the season with a 9-14 overall record and a 4-7 mark in district play, narrowly missing out on a postseason berth.
