Two new City Council members took their seats for the first time during a special meeting May 13, following the official canvassing of votes from t he May 3 general election.
City Secretary Peyton Standifer administered the oath of office to Tiffany St. Pierre, elected to represent Ward 3, and Liston Crim, elected in Ward 4.


St. Pierre narrowly defeated Matthew Callahan, winning by just five votes in Bastrop County and 15 in Travis County. She captured 56% of the 127 ballots cast across both counties.
Crim won his race decisively, earning about 72% of the vote against write-in candidate Stephanie Lippke. Voter turnout across Bastrop County was just over 7%, with 4,080 of the county’s 53,036 registered voters participating in the tally, according to county records.
