Shotgun pulled in reported road rage incident

CEDAR CREEK — The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent road rage incident that occurred May 7 on High Grove Road in Cedar Creek.

According to the victim, Charlton Powell, the confrontation involved a red Ford F-150 that allegedly passed his vehicle and veered into a bar ditch before cutting him off. Powell was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck while pulling a cattle trailer with a calf inside.

Powell captured video of the incident, which he later provided to investigators.

The footage reportedly shows the F-150 stopping in front of Powell’s truck. The driver is then seen exiting the vehicle and retrieving a shotgun from the backseat.

The sheriff’s office has confirmed the incident is under investigation. No arrests or charges had been announced as of press time.

Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
