Water leadership scholarship closes soon

BASTROP COUNTY — This is the final week for Bastrop County students to apply for a scholarship from the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District.

Supporting the 4-H Water Ambassador Program, funds cover participation costs and monthly expenses for the statewide conservation initiative while offering a $1,250 annual scholarship for future education.

To qualify, students must be accepted into the program and maintain good standing through service and learning requirements.

“This scholarship is more than just financial support—it’s a step toward cultivating future leaders in water conservation,” said LPGCD General Manager Jim Totten.

Appl ications are due May 12, with details available at lostpineswater. org.
