WIND CHIME WORKSHOP
ELGIN — Tweens ages 11–14 can get creative at a free wind chime workshop May 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Elgin Recreation Center, 361 N. Texas 95. Design a colorful chime with no experience needed. Pre-register at the Rec Center.

SMITHVILLE FLY-IN SMITHVILLE — The 19th annual Smithville Crawford Municipal Airport Fly-In takes off May 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smithville airport. Enjoy vintage aircraft displays, helicopter rides and a candy drop for kids. Hosted by Friends of 84R and the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce. Rain date is set for May 17.

HOME ON THE RANGE BASTROP — Families are invited to explore cowboy life at the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center May 10 from noon to 4 p.m. Kids can learn about cattle, branding, rope making and more through hands-on fun and stories. Free for children under 12, or with membership.

BASTROP—Takeaguided stroll through Bastrop’s historic downtown and learn about its rich history and architecture May 10 and 17 from 10-11 a.m. Tours begin at the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center, led by local storytellers. Space is limited to 10 people per tour.

ELGIN — Roll into Skate Night every Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Elgin Recreation Center’s back parking lot, 361 N. Texas 95. All wheels are welcome to shred ramps, quarter pipes and rails. Free and open to all ages, weather permitting.
