VAMPIRE BALL
SMITHVILLE — Step into a world of mystery at the inaugural Vampire Masquerade Ball May 2 from 7 p.m. to midnight at Scream Hollow Wicked Halloween Park, just outside Smithville. Enjoy drinks, dancing, candlelit museum tours, Ouija sessions, a vampire blood ritual, gothic vendors and more. Guests will choose between two vampire covens and receive masquerade masks and fangs. Proceeds support the Halloween History Museum.

SELF-DEFENSE CLASS BASTROP — Bastrop Police Department will host a free self-defense class May 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Bastrop Recreation Center. SMITHVILLE — The 19th annual Smithville Crawford Municipal Airport Fly-In takes off May 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smithville airport. Enjoy vintage aircraft displays, helicopter rides and a candy drop for kids. Hosted by Friends of 84R and the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce. Rain date is May 17.
