DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old cancer survivor and honorary Bastrop Police Department officer, received more special recognition March 5 during a meeting with President Donald Trump. Originally from Houston, the local celebrant is now an honorary Secret Service agent. Daniel was sworn in at City Hall in August 2022 and has been steadfast on his mission to raise awareness for childhood cancer, aiming to be recognized by as many law enforcement agencies as possible.
