A fatal single-vehicle crash near the intersection of U.S. 290 and Western Sky Boulevard Sept. 1 prompted lane closures, according to the Elgin Police Department.
Officers and crash investigators responded to the scene about 8 a.m., closing the outside lane of eastbound U.S. 290. Although traffic continued, drivers were advised to expect delays and exercise caution.
The investigation concluded by 10:57 a.m., and the roadway was reopened.
