Elgin FFA in the upper echelon

Elgin’s young agricultural minds receive the prestigious Gold Emblem rating at the 96th Annual Texas Future Farmers of America State Convention last week, bestowed upon the top 10% of FFA chapters. The honors come for actively implementing the FFA’s mission and strategies, improving operations with a program that emphasizes student, chapter and community development. Selected chapters advance to be judged at the National FFA Chapter Contest. At the event, member Paden Maass is also awarded a $10,000 Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation scholarship, a $1,000 San Antonio Livestock Exposition Tour Guide scholarship and a $500 Texas FFA Alumni scholarship.
