BBQ PLATE FUNDRAISER

ELGIN — Jesus Alpha & Omega Church, 511 E. 6th St., will host a barbecue plate fundraiser this Saturday at the church. Plates are $14 and include pork steak, sausage, beans, potato salad and the trimmings. Pick up is form 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

YESTERFEST 2024

BASTROP — Celebrate Bastrop’s pioneer spirit and diverse history with Yesterfest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Bastrop, 1311 Chestnut. The day will be filled with re-enactors, demonstrators, vendors, speakers, storytellers and music. The event will engage visitors with a circa 1830s saloon and bowling alley, a Native American camp complete with teepee, a blacksmith demonstration, acoustic musical performances and soap box stand showcase.
