The Elgin Juneteenth organization will be hosting its 25th annual silent auction May 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 114 Central Ave. Local businesses and donors will be coming together to contribute auctioned items, with proceeds going to the Juneteenth Scholarship Foundation for graduating seniors. “Elgin is one community,” said event organizer Theresa Scott.
