Laurey Wolf
Laurey Wolf

Laurey began her service to McDade ISD as a paraprofessional, soon following in her mother’s footsteps pursuing a teaching degree. She taught alongside her mother, Helen Blaschke, in the building now named Helen Blaschke Hall on the elementary campus.
Laurey served McDade in various positions teaching fourth, fifth and sixth grade, technology, art, GT, and as the librarian. After her retirement in 2019, Laurey continued to serve McDade ISD as a long-term sub, Book Fair coordinator, and most recently as a volunteer librarian. Hundreds of students passed through Laurey’s classrooms over the years and grew in their love of learning through her dedication. Her love of reading was evident in everything she did and she modeled that love every day. It was important to Laurey that every child at McDade have the best educational experience possible.
Throughout the years, Laurey was a huge supporter of students at McDade, generously contributing to student fundraisers, extra-curricular activities, scholarships, and any other opportunity that allowed her to show her love of McDade and its schools.
Laurey was a loving, caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and great-aunt. Besides her love of teaching, she was devoted to her family. She was faithfully devoted to her church and her community both in thought and deed.
Laurey is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Helen Blaschke; and her nephew in-law Shane Osborne. Laurey is survived by her husband, Stephen Wolf; her beloved son, Stephen Matthew Wolf; her sister Charlotte Horn; her niece Megan Nalley and her husband Ryan; her nephew Samuel Horn and his wife Fidelia; and especially dear to her, great-nephews Shane, Benjamin and Leo and great-nieces Summer, Isabel and Abigail.
