The Elgin High School girls varsity basketball team won its third 5A-District 23 game of the season Friday, Jan. 26 as the Lady Wildcats cruised to a 48-36 victory at home over Pflugerville Connally High School.Following a slow offensive start in the first quarter, the Lady Wildcat offense came to life in the second and third quarters against the Lady Cougars as Elgin kept Connally at bay during the second half.Elgin was led by sophomore Trinity Martinez with a game-high 17 points on four three-pointers, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
