Bastrop County residents will have three chances next week to weigh in on a proposed AI data center that has drawn both interest and opposition in the community.
Commissioners and representatives from EdgeConneX will host town hall meetings June 16-18 to discuss the possibility of the company establishing data centers in the county. The Coalition of Democratic Allies, which has raised concerns about the proposed development, is encouraging residents to attend and voice their opinions.
“A large number of concerned residents in Bastrop, Elgin, Cedar Creek, Smithville and other rural areas plan to attend to voice their concerns and ask questions,” CODA officials said.
The meetings run from 6-8 p.m. each day.
