BASTROP — The Lower Colorado River Authority is releasing storm runoff at the Bastrop Dam, officials said.
Bastrop Lake, about three miles northeast of the city, is formed by an 88-foot-high earthfill dam with a spillway. Water is being released to manage elevated levels, with flow moving down Spicer and Piney creeks into the Colorado River.
The LCRA is urging residents to stay alert to local conditions and be prepared to take protective actions.
