FILM INDUSTRY MEETUP BASTROP — The Bastrop County Film Industry Meetup will take place Sept. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hampton Inn & Suites, 240 S. PICKING AT THE GALLERY BASTROP — Found Fine Art, 912 Water St., will celebrate Bastrop Live Music Month with Picking at the Gallery Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local carpenter and artist Rob Hunt will debut his hand-built guitar collection, inviting guests to view and play the instruments. RED ROCK — Wild Bunch Brewing Co., 1764 Taylorsville Road, will host its Harvest Festival Sept. 20 from 3 to 11 p.m. The event features local crafts, food and a full lineup of brews, seltzers and root beer. Live music includes Tim Bentley at 3 p.m., Smoke and Flowers at 5 p.m. and The Mighty Moondog at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or a canopy for shade.

GALA FOR HOPE

BASTROP — Gala for Hope 2025 will take place Sept. 27 from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Bastrop Convention Center, 1408 Chestnut St. The semi-formal evening includes red carpet photos, dinner, live music, a silent auction and speakers addressing mental health awareness. Featured guests include actors David Chokachi, Emilio Rivera and Mark Anthony Baca, along with Bastrop mental health professional T.J. Finn. SOUTHERN SPRINTS

PAIGE — Cotton Bowl Speedway will host Southern United Sprints Sept. 27 with gates and pits opening at 3 p.m., grandstands at 5 p.m. and hot laps beginning at 6:30 p.m. The opening ceremony starts at 7 p.m., followed by heat races and feature races. SEPTEMBER SCREAM HOLLOW

SMITHVILLE—ScreamHollow Wicked Halloween Park kicks off its 10th anniversary season this month at 149 Split Rail Lane, open from 7 p.m. to midnight. The 20-acre park features five haunted attractions, including the new Alien Encounter, along withlivebands,vendors,themed bars and bonfires. TREE DEDICATION

ELGIN — The Elgin OralHistory Project will host a tree dedication Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park playground. The ceremony honors Sydna Davis Arbuckle and T. Berry for their work in preserving Elgin’s history and culture. Cookies and punch will be served after the dedication.
