Elgin High School’s Lady Wildats are ready to pounce as volleyball season approaches, kicking things off with a multiteam scrimmage Friday, Aug. 9, at Taylor High School.
The Lady Cats will face off against host Taylor, Killeen Chaparral and Little River-Academy in a full-day preseason tune-up ahead of regular season play.
Varsity action starts at noon against Taylor. Elgin will then go headto- head with Little River- Academy at 2:15 p.m., wrapping up the day’s competition against Chaparral at 3:45 p.m.
Junior varsity takes the court at 12:45 p.m., matching up with Taylor first, then Academy at 1:30 p.m. and Chaparral at 3 p.m. The freshman team will follow the same schedule as the JV squad. According to coaches, the scrimmage will give all three Elgin squads an early opportunity to build chemistry and evaluate rotations before the official season begins.
