BASTROP — The Bastrop Bears varsity volleyball team is gearing up for the 2025–26 season, having recently released its schedule.
The Bears will open the regular season on the road against Elgin on Aug. 12 before competing in the Jason Landers Classic tournament at Austin ISD on Aug. 14–16. Bastrop will open its home stretch at home against Pflugerville Connally on Aug. 19 and will host its own tournament Aug. 21–23.
The Bears return to action on the road at Lexington on Aug. 26, then compete in the Matador Classic in Seguin Aug. 28– 30. They’ll return home to face Lockhart on Teacher Appreciation Night Sept. 2.
Tournament play continues Sept. 4–6 at the Wimberley Tex-Fest at Wimberley High School. Bastrop will then host Austin Ann Richards on Sept. 9 to open District 24-5A play and travel to face Cedar Creek on Sept. 12.
The Bears stay on the road for a matchup against Austin Navarro on Sept. 16 before returning home to host Austin Liberal Arts and Science Academy on Sept. 19. They will travel to Austin Crockett on Sept. 23 and then host Austin Anderson on Sept. 26.
Bastrop hits the road again on Sept. 30 to take on Austin McCallum and remains away to face Ann Richards on Oct. 3. The Bears will then host Cedar Creek on Middle School Night on Oct. 7 and Navarro on Parents Night, Oct. 10.
The team travels to LASA on Oct. 14 and returns home for its homecoming match against Crockett on Oct. 17. The Bears will visit Anderson on Oct. 21 before closing out the regular season on Senior Night against Mc-Callum on Oct. 24.
Bastrop is coming off a 15–25 season, finishing sixth in the district with a 4–10 record. The Bears will look to replace five graduated seniors but return a strong core of veteran players, including Abby Thomas, Keyaira Limuel-Washington and Harper Stevenson.
Tryouts for the team will take place on Aug. 1-2.
