SMITHVILLE — The Smithville Tigers varsity baseball team had nine players named to the All-District 22-4A team, including three first-team selections, two second- team honorees and four honorable mentions.
Grayson Mullen was named first-team outfielder, while Jaxson Frazier earned first-team pitcher honors. Aiden Guzman rounded out the group with first-team recognition as an infielder. Mullen and Guzman led the Tigers at the plate, while Frazier served as the team’s ace on the mound.
Aiden Peacock and Layne Kimball earned spots on the second team. Peacock was selected as an outfielder, and Kimball received honors as an infielder.
Four Tigers earned honorable mention: outfielder Payton Lynch, catcher Trip Davis, designated hitter Luke Wagoner and infielder Ranndo Arpero.
Smithville finished the season with a 17-9 overall record and narrowly missed the playoffs after going 5-5 in district play.
