The Elgin varsity softball team was well represented on the 2025 All-District Team, with seven players earning recognition for their performances this season.
Two Lady Cats earned first-team all-district honors: senior utility player Gabriella Sandoval and junior power hitter Bianca Galindo.
Sandoval was a dual threat for Elgin, finishing the year with a .407 batting average and a 4.98 earned run average. Galindo anchored the offense with 10 home runs and a standout .567 average.
Junior Adrianna Sandoval and sophomore Miranda Herring were named to the second team. Adrianna Sandoval batted .358 with a .449 on-base percentage, while Herring hit .391 and reached base at a .500 clip.
Elgin also had three players receive honorable mention: junior Trinity Martinez, sophomore Kateyln Anderson and sophomore Jaylen Barker.
Martinez finished the season with a .227 average, Anderson posted a 4.48 ERA in the circle and Barker closed her season hitting .222 at the plate.
The Lady Wildcats ended the year 10-17 overall and 5-7 in district play, finishing just one game behind Hendrickson for the final playoff spot.
