Bastrop’s Hola commits to Fighting Irish

BASTROP — Bastrop junior defensive lineman Tiki Hola announced his commitment to the University of Notre Dame during a ceremony Saturday, May 10, at Bastrop High School.

Hola chose the Fighting Irish over SMU and Southern California, placing the Notre Dame hat on his head as friends, family and teammates cheered him on.

One of the most sought-after defensive linemen in the state, Hola played a crucial role in helping lead Bastrop’s defense, which ranked among the best in Class 5A last season. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound lineman finished his junior campaign with 102 total tackles, including 50 solo stops and 10 tackles for loss.

His dominant play on the line of scrimmage drew national attention. Hola received 25 Division I scholarship offers, including from premier in-state programs such as Texas A&M, Baylor and Texas Tech.

With his college decision now behind him, Hola is focused on his final high school season. Spring training is already underway for the Bears, and Hola will look to lead the Bastrop defense once again as the team eyes a deep playoff run in 2025.
